March 15, 2008--Saturday - 5:05 PM

Almost three years ago was my last post.

Christ.

So much has happened. I completely forgot about Diaryland. Of course, I'm still online friends with Carly & Kristen. I think that's a definite accomplishment.

Now, I like with three other people in a schmancy apartment downtown.

Seriously, if you're even reading this, find me on: MySpace, LiveJournal & on Facebook.

June 15, 2005--Wednesday - 12:59 PM

Well well--I'm am now officially a high school graduate [May 27] & am a soon-to-be college freshman [August 22]. Indeed. Attended a Keane concert three days ago in New Orleans, Louisiana & have found out that I'm not terrible at video games such as Star Wars Battlefront & both Halo games. Hurrah.

May 06, 2005--Friday - 6:30 PM

Yep, seems I missed the April addition to this old diary, many sorrows. Also missed the May 2 entry, but my computer was not in my possession at the time.

Have turned 17 [5/3] Indeed.

March 02, 2005--Wednesday - 11:41 PM

Alas, the entry for March to keep my old decrepit diary from disappearing. I was reading the entry I wrote exactly 1 year ago just now I realize how much I've changed, as well as the situations around me. This year, Micah is taking me to Jr/Sr Banquet [though I'm sure it's because the girl[s] he would rather are already taking someone else] Still have perpetual emotional turmoil, but that's just because I'm Nicole, an enneagram personality type based heavily on 4. It's inherent, but I'm becoming more adaptable. Still wish I could talk to Jason about things, though I now bring all of my problems & thoughts to Mr. P. Everybody's changing and I don't feel the same... [Keane, Everybody's Changing] Another side note, this past month, I started dual-posting on LiveJournal.

Remember when you were young
How the hero was never hung
Always got away

Remember the man
Used to leave you empty handed
Always, always let you down
If you ever change your mind
About leaving it all behind
Remember, remember today

Don't you worry
'Bout what you've done
Don't feel sorry
'Bout the way it's gone

Remember
When you were small
How people seemed so tall
Always had their way
Remember your ma and pa
Just wishing for movie stardom
Always, always playing a part
If you ever feel sad
And the whole world is driving you mad
Remember, remember today

Well well. After quite some time that this diary has been inaccessible due to lack of updating, I have finally discovered the reactivate button. Congrats to me. Now all I must do is add a new entry, I suppose, frequently to keep this old container of slightly embarassing old entries online to haunt me with it's inescapably colorful layout, as opposed to my new, greyer template on the current URL. I'll do it on the 2nd of every month. Aye aye.

March 21, 2004--Sunday - 10:03 PM

And In The End...This is the last entry for this diary URL [of course the title is from The Beatles' The End]--today is the 1 year anniversary of opening my diary & I've now officially switched over to headinacloud.diaryland.com so that's the place to be. [har] You might wanna change your links & whatnot. The only thing is that as of today, I still haven't successfully updated all my FanListings, but that'll happen within this upcoming week. Tis the end of this overtly Beatle-referenced diary URL to the lyrical Beatle-referenced on from The Fool On The Hill. :D Alrighty...well I suppose that you might wanna congratulate me on my 1 year... [j/k] Fare thee well!

The Truth Behind Desserts
Mood: Ok
Woke up way early this morning in order to get to Mr. Randy's house for 7:45am--got there right on the money. Actually, I'm typing this on his comp.

Today was quite long & I've had a headache for about 3 hours...that's 44 days straight. Sometimes they're not too bad, but on days like today, simply wretched. I got through 1 chapter of my Woody Allen book that I started last night. He's rather hilarious--no matter his personal life.

Within 1 hour of being here, I was ready to leave & not deal with the tantrems, etc. Arg. I just can't do this anymore...this ALL DAY thing. I was planning on telling him that today, but due to the funeral today etc. I decided against it & procrastinated until next Saturday, when I babysit all night, spend the night, take the kids to church, then return to their house until around 2pm when their parents return from Destin. Yeah.

Along with babysitting, I had a revelation today. Ok--the name of the dessert stuff that's fruity but not like ice cream & is better for you is: sherbert or sherbet? Yes, I wrote sherbEt. How many of you have said 'sher-bert' all of your lives, as opposed to 'sher-bet' which is writting on the Blue Bell plastic container? I know I have. The kids were saying it today & I thought to myself 'What the heck--it's sher-bert not sher-bet' but I found myself to be wrong, well partially wrong. See, when my mom called around 8pm [like I request her to, since I really haven't made connections all day with anyone above children] I asked her the question, she answered 'sher-bert' as well as my dad, then I asked her to look it up in the dictionary: which has both as correct. Do you know how much it throws me off to know that I've been saying that word without knowing that it's only partially correct?! Alot. Here's what dictionary.com has to say:

Word History: Although the word sherbet has been in the English language for several centuries (it was first recorded in 1603), it has not always referred to what one normally thinks of as sherbet. Sherbet came into English from Ottoman Turkish sherbet or Persian sharbat, both going back to Arabic arba, “drink.” The Turkish and Persian words referred to a beverage of sweetened, diluted fruit juice that was popular in the Middle East and imitated in Europe. In Europe sherbet eventually came to refer to a carbonated drink. Because the original Middle Eastern drink contained fruit and was often cooled with snow, sherbet was applied to a frozen dessert (first recorded in 1891). It is distinguished slightly from sorbet, which can also mean “a fruit-flavored ice served between courses of a meal.” Sorbet (first recorded in English in 1585) goes back through French (sorbet) and then Italian (sorbetto) to the same Turkish sherbet that gave us sherbet.

After I had my mental breakdown over frozen dessert [har] & watched most of The Cat In The Hat while still talking to my mom. I was surprised to hear Smashmouth's version of Getting Better [The Beatles] near the end of the movie. I hate it when people cover Beatles' songs, but I was amused that they cut out the last verse I used to be cruel to my woman/I beat her & kept her apart from the things that she loved/Man, I was mean/but I'm changing my scene/& I'm doing the best that I can. :P Good thing--*sarcastic* it might influence the children watching this movie which has crude references like 'dirty hoe' etc. Indeed. I did enjoy the instrumental during that part of the song though.

So here I am, wishing & longing to go home & sleep in my bed. I don't wish to surf the net here anymore [did I just say that?!?] since it's not my comp at home, which has the songs that I need to...borrow...semi-legally. :P Meh. Maybe I'll read some more. Hopefully they won't be out too late tonight. Fare thee well.
Song of the day: Getting Better by The Beatles
Couplet of the day: I'm sitting at someone else's comp now/At the thought of sher-bet I had a cow [har]

Painting My Room In The Colourful Way...
Mood: Glad
Today's title comes from Fixing A Hole by The Beatles: I'm painting my room in the colourful way/& when my mind is wandering/there I will go. Which I did. Started painting my room 'Celery Stick' green around 11:30am & finished around 4pm, while having about a 2-hour break in there somewhere. It definitly went faster than when we did the primer. I think we have to do a second coat on Sunday because it's a little splotchy, but overall, it's just the way I wanted & expected it. :D

My net keeps cutting off, therefore I have to keep reconnecting--arg.

Since my dad rudely claimed the TV at 7pm when I wanted to see What Women Want with Mel Gibson, I decided to watch Con-Air instead, but as I was going through the previews [it was on VHS & on our little TV] I saw Armageddon & decided that since I haven't seen that in a while, I should...so I did. :D I forgot Owen Wilson was in that--Hutch! [har] That's it for today--I'm dreading babysitting tomorrow...ugh

I added some new FanListings of Beatle's songs on my 'cliques' page--I have to hurry & update my new URL on all the others by Sunday...eventually. :P

'Love' On My Hand In Silver Sharpie
Mood: Tired
I babysat Rebecca & Ben today. After looking at the 2002 world book of records, I wrote the word 'love' on my left hand because (1)I love Sharpies, especially metallic silver ones & (2)I enjoy writing huge cursive 'L's. So, the imprint is still on my hand, even after I tried to scrub it off in the shower. :P

I had to run by the furniture store my mom works at to get the house key to get inside...then the new delivery guys walked up to the counter that Rebecca & I were standing at, dropped off the delivery sheet, then headed to the back. Hmm...cute boys that are only 18. ;P My mom said that Jeremy [the one with glasses, to whom I was instantly drawn to, of course] is 'really nice & polite' & the the other guy John is too. Speaking of delivery guys, there is another one, Joe [did you notice they all have 'J' names?] who is 19, had to leave work early yesterday because his mom called & said that his grandfather died. My mom found out today that he was dead for 2 & 1/2 hours but is living now. Weird stuff. That happened once when I lived in LA--this old lady woke up at the morgue near where I used to live. It's funny, almost in a 'ha-ha' way, because to me...well that's my humor. Blame it upon my personality type: 4/5. [har]

Here's a Friday [on Thursday but technically from tomorrow, but the time difference is to blame] 5 [3/19/04]:
If you...
1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? Cajun food, definitely
2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? mod/retro affordable furniture & stuff
3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be? psychological thriller, if I were able to actually write one :P
4. ...ran a school, what would you teach? the fine arts, including art, music & drama...yeah
5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? hmmm, I'm thinking a mix of Beatle-esque harmonies, with strong & basic vocals, lead guitar, bass & drums, but with good deep lyrics [by the way, I found out that the most music videos ever for a song is 5, so if ever you find out that I've made a record or have some say-so in a band's career & see that there are 6 vids for the same song, know it's me :D]
Song of the day: Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealer's Wheel
Couplet of the day: I'm just extremely tired & sleepy/Paint tomorrow with 'stick of celery' [har]

St. Patrick...Jason's Bday
Mood: Happy
I had to wake up relatively early so that my mom & I could go buy the paint for my room: 'Celery Stick'. The color still scares her, but I don't think it will be as intense as my parents think it will be.

We got back on, slapped our dust/odor masks & began putting the primer on. 'Oh crap' was used by me many times due to my inexperience in painting along the edges with my Trimline thingy. I went through many state changes while inhaling the fumes...I mean priming: euphoria, sleepiness, dizziness, irritation--but mostly euphoria. [har] That's all we got done today due to the facts that (1) we were sick of inhaling those fumes & (2) I had to start getting ready to go to Alabama with Jason, Micah & Andy.

I got to the church at 5pm & gave Jason his book, card & Snickers. As he was reading the card ['I hope you have a great 24th etc...'], he said 'This is ironic...Pastor Taylor died today' What?! This was the elderly man who conducts the early-Sunday services that I talked to Sunday night! Wow. It turns out that this morning, he was in his car to leave & a while later, his wife saw that the car was still there & he was dead. Cause is still in question, could be heart attack, stroke & so on. Therefore, Jason's not leaving tomorrow for his 15 hour voyage to Charleston, SC for the interview with the church there, since the pastor there is Pastor Taylor's son. He's flying in tonight. He won't have a regular interview, but at least he'll get to know Jason a little bit better, if it's God's will for him to go to SC. Well, today got off on the wrong step for poor Jason. But he really likes his book. :) Micah & Andy came a little while later, they talked about video games & such, then we headed out at 5:30pm.

Car ride there was fun. We kept making fun of Jason's Smashing Pumpkins CD & at one point I said 'If the guy says 'SHAME' one more time, I'm gonna rip my hair out!' Then they all started droning 'SHAME' as we were driving up to Wendy's. I bought a Frosty & a bacon & cheese baked potato. We were kinda in a hurry so Jason told Andy & me to hurry up--I retorted 'Would you rather me barf or scald my tongue?' 'Uh...burn your tongue' I gave him an pseudo-evil look & continued eating at the fastest pace possible.

We got to the church [where Jason interned last summer] just in time for them to say 'If you are a new visitor, we would like to take you to the lounge & give you some free food & stuff' or something to that order. Then we quickly returned & re-joined fastly-recognizeable-'old-intern-Jason'. It was odd with all these people coming up to him while we 3 just stood there--earlier he told us in the car that he probably wouldn't be able to remember anyone's name, so we should keep an ear out for 'Hey you' etc. [har] There was one guy with really pretty eyes who was passing by & caught my left-over smile from meeting someone new & returned it. I never saw him the rest of the night. Go figure. Upstairs, they had foosball & free arcade games...yep, I still suck at Pac-Man. We were all really sleepy once we got to the car around 9:45pm.

Car ride home was pretty quiet, Jason was talking to his friend Erin about half of the time. She lives in Orlando, that's pretty much all Micah, Andy & I know about her. Then Jason talked about our youth group & the improvements we need to make & that we 4 need to get together about once a month to discuss all that stuff. Indeed. Jason was supposed to pick up Pastor Taylor's son from the airport around 10pm--we got back to the church around 10:15pm. Jason took Micah with him to the airport & told Andy to wait with me in the parking lot until my mom came to pick me up. :D That's about it!
Song of the day: Meant To Live by Switchfoot
Couplet of the day: All 4 of us are just so tired & pooped/Have to get up early tomorrow too

March 16, 2004--Tuesday - 10:52 PM

*spins* A Whole New World
Mood: Odd
Happily woke up around 11:30am then 2 minutes later, my dad called. I just realize that I type like I play the piano. That's really funny-looking. :P

While I was online for prolonged hours this morning, I added some FanListings. I have to change my URL & email address for all the old ones...soon...yeah.

I watched Annie Hall this afternoon. I *heart* that movie. Woody Allen is a genius. You can't beat a movie with the word 'pontificate' in it: ex. At church on Feb. 14th, the guy tried to pontificate his pseudo-fact that C.S. Lewis was instrumental in J.R.R. Tolkein's salvation experience. [har]

Ha--I was just about to gripe about there not being a new Strong Bad email in about 2 weeks & there's a new one today. :P

I headed to the church for 6pm tonight since we were set to film for the Extreme Makeover thing. When I got there, the door was locked, so Jason came & opened it for me. He said that it turned out that he wasn't needed for this filming, so he was about to head home, but he said that he was sticking around so that he could say 'hey' to me. Aw. I tell ya, if that boy was about 8 years younger... :P I'm greeted by Mrs. Jeanetta with the explanation of what we're gonna do tonight & she said that I needed to say what I want to change about myself. I froze. Jason started chuckling behind the computer & I said 'Well, Jason, why don't you help me with this answer!' He said 'No way--I'm not going into those waters.' Smart guy. :) So eventually Jason left & we started filming & I was serious & myself, but then Mrs. J had a great idea--why don't I be all attitude-y!? Hurrah--something I can really do. So yeah, I copped the whole attitude & mein & I'm very happy with it all. Sure I looked dorky a few times...especially when I wasn't aware that the camera was still going. At one point, I was standing on Mr. Jim's fireplace in his office & said 'I just wanna she the whole new world a new me...I mean new me...*spins around with arms outstretched & slighty British accent* Yes! A whole new world!' Then, on my last taping I was concluding & said '& I just wanna be the kind of person that would make everyone be like 'Oh! I wanna meet that girl!'...yeah...*look at Mrs. J who's just giggling behind the camera--really sad, confused face* Why are you laughing at me?' [har] She said those will be great outtakes. :D

I finally got to watch the 'Sinking Titanic' episode of Mythbusters at 9pm. I think that was the only one I missed, ever, so now I'm caught up. That's about it for today. I start painting my room tomorrow--after I buy the paint!
Song of the day: Maxwell's Silver Hammer by The Beatles
Couplet of the day: Jason made fun of how tired I am today/Since I didn't do anything anyway
